After months of planning and research The Sustainable Business Resource is now ready to launch
Based in Barnstaple, The SBR is a not for profit organization and part of the Plastic Free North Devon charity which was set up in 2018 by Claire Moody to tackle the over use of single use plastic in North Devon and has developed into many other areas focusing on Climate Change and pollution.
The SBR has been set up by Steve Roberts, MD of Turnstyle Designs Ltd, a Barnstaple based manufacturer of luxury door hardware and a director of St Michaels Nursery in Barnstaple.
Steve recognized, through the work it took to make sustainable improvements with the two diverse businesses that he runs, just how difficult and time consuming it is for owner/ managers to find the time to navigate the huge amount of advice and information there is out there to make the necessary changes to ones business in order to make them sustainable, whilst also recognizing the huge benefits that the businesses have enjoyed as a result of the work.
The SBR is working with organizations such as The North Devon Biosphere, Exeter and Plymouth Universities, SWMAS as well as many specialist consultants and suppliers in order to cut through the overload of information that abounds and direct Businesses in the most efficient way, helping them improve every aspect of their business from a sustainable point of view. From transportation and waste management to ESG investment The SBR will connect businesses with grants, internships, suppliers and specialist consultants.
