In a joint factory visit, NDMA and PMG members were hosted at the home of Henry the vacuum cleaner.
20 manufacturing representatives from across Northern Devon and Plymouth were in attendance, gathering in the training room at the impressive 34 acre site in Chard, Somerset. They were given an insightful presentation from Stuart Cochrane, Head of Operations, before heading off on a tour of some of the production areas.
Along with a vast range of Industrial and commercial cleaning products, they produce 7,000 Henry Vacuum Cleaners per day. With a total workforce of 1,300 employees everything is made in their buildings, with 45% being exported.
There were plenty of examples of innovation and best practice for the visitors to ‘hoover up’ and share with their colleagues and it was good to see PMG and NDMA Members sharing thoughts and ideas throughout the visit.
