Should businesses stay open? – guidance
Make UK have updated our guidance for members who have questions about whether their businesses should remain open. Please find attached a letter we are sending to those members. Please feel free to amend and use this when communicating with your members.
Letters for employees
A furlough letter and a work authorisation letter templates can be found here: https://www.makeuk.org/news-and-events/news/2020/03/25/covid-19-furlough-letter-to-employee. Please do share these with your members
#BusinessHeroes Campaign
Make UK are about to launch a #BusinessHeroes campaign to highlight the great work manufacturers are doing right now, we’re on the hunt for positive stories about what manufacturers are doing in the effort to fight covid-19, as well as why manufacturing is so important right now. Hopefully this will help support our members with why they’re open.
Please could you help by suggesting some examples. Just the name and a short snippet about them. It would be good to highlight broader examples than just medical – maybe some food, safety lighting, nuclear, electronics, metal packaging? For example: Marchant Cain – Designed face masks for frontline workers. We are hoping to kick off the campaign so the sooner you can send in examples, the better.
Partner Conference Call/ Virtual Meeting
I am looking for a slot for this next week. We are working on the basis that most people’s diaries are not quite as packed as usual, so a call at relatively short notice would be possible. I am sure you can appreciate that given the situation changes daily, it is a challenge to plan too far ahead. Details to follow.
