Colin Dymond, founder of Barnstable based Dymond Engineering retired recently after 36 years with the company and so it enters an exciting new phase in its development.
Colin started out by providing a precision metal fabrication service to shop fitters and retail designers. Dymond Shop Fittings is still a leading supplier to this industry but the company has expanded and diversified into variety of other sectors.
Six years ago the organisation gained fresh impetus when it was acquired by Mike Garner and Sue Roberts. They have infused Dymond with fresh energy and additional experience, working alongside Colin to develop new products and explore fresh markets.
Colin’s retirement has been carefully planned for some time and Shaun Couch was brought on board last September to become the next Product Design and Manufacturing Engineer. Shaun brings with him over 20 years’ design, production management and project engineering experience gained while working in a number of roles with well-respected companies.
Managing Director, Mike Garner, comments that “Colin has been hugely instrumental in making Dymond Engineering and Dymond Shop Fitting the success story it is today. He’ll be sadly missed by the team here and all those clients he has helped over the years. His departure, however, makes room for Shaun, who has already proved a great asset with his fresh enthusiasm and breadth of experience. We’re as responsive and competitive as ever, hungry to win new business, eager to innovate and expand into a wider range of sectors.”
Shaun Couch adds that “I’m thoroughly enjoying my new role and very excited about becoming part of a business with such an excellent reputation for its value engineering expertise, product quality and solutions-focused approach. We have a terrific offering for contractors, manufacturers, joiners and designers, as well as business owners in the retail arena – more practical solutions, better value, shorter lead times and excellent service.”
We know our customers and suppliers will join us in wishing Colin a happy retirement and in welcoming Shaun to the business – he’s looking forward to working with you.
